Natural Vision
Improvement – A Comprehensive Overview
🌱 What Is the Bates Method?
The Bates Method, developed by Dr. William H. Bates, is a natural approach to improving eyesight without glasses, contact lenses, medication, or surgery. It is based on the idea that most vision problems are caused by chronic tension in the eye muscles and mental strain.
Rather than correcting vision externally, the method seeks to restore the eye’s natural ability to focus by promoting relaxation, healthy visual habits, and proper eye function.
🔍 Core Principles of the Bates Method
- Relaxation Over Strain:
Poor vision is often linked to strain—both physical and mental. By reducing tension, the eyes can naturally begin to focus more clearly. - Movement and Flexibility:
Eyes are meant to move continuously. Rigid staring, especially at screens, leads to fatigue and deteriorating sight. - Central Fixation:
The method encourages focusing on one point at a time, allowing peripheral vision to remain relaxed—mimicking natural vision habits.
🧘♀️ Common Bates Techniques
- Palming:
A relaxation technique where warm hands are gently cupped over closed eyes to block out light and relieve visual stress. - Shifting & Swinging:
These movements help restore natural eye motion and reduce the habit of fixed staring. - Sunning:
A controlled exposure of closed eyes to natural sunlight to stimulate and relax the optic nerves. - Blinking & Breathing:
Conscious blinking keeps eyes moist and refreshed; breathing deeply reduces stress, indirectly helping eye function. - Near-to-Far Focus Exercises:
Alternating focus between nearby and distant objects trains the eyes to adapt and enhances accommodation (focusing ability).

My clients gave me their trust, and this is what they say about my program.
Dear Mila, Thank you again for your great course last winter I’ve lost two negative diopters in each eye, lost the 1.5 astigmatism and the plus 2.5 I had in my progressives. My husband has no more cataract or macular degeneration, and his dry eye is almost gone.

I was diagnosed with dry macular degeneration in both eyes. In 2012 I had cataract surgery. I wanted to share some good news. I saw my optometrist last week and after he examined my eyes, he informed me that there was no inflammation in my eyes. The eye pressure was normal, 16. In the left and 14 in the right. He told me to keep doing whatever I am doing, it’s working! I think maybe the combination of eye supplements and the eye exercises) which I do daily) are helping! I am enjoying the class and learning a lot. I look forward to speaking with you after the class.

I wanted to thank you again for offering this wonderful class. It’s frustrating that eye doctors don’t tell you this stuff and you just expect your eyesight to get worse as time goes on, not realizing you have so much control over your vision! Thank you for opening my eyes;) I just wanted to let you know that I stopped wearing my progressive lenses right after our first class. My distance vision wasn’t too bad (I had Lasik surgery many years ago), but I had gotten used to wearing the glasses for distance. I am perfectly comfortable driving without the glasses now (and without my sunglasses too). I have been mostly palming, blinking, and not wearing my glasses, and I am working on incorporating more of the exercises as we go along. I am so excited! I stopped using the lubricating drops completely and am just blinking and palming to lubricate. I am definitely noticing that when my eyes are stressed (or dry), my vision is worse. And relaxing them helps! I just wanted to share my experiences over the past 2+ weeks. I am so appreciative! Thank you, thank you!

I've worn strong glasses for several decades and have always hated them, so when I heard about Dr. Mila's Vision Improvement course, I signed up immediately, making a commitment to do whatever she recommended to achieve my dream of not needing to wear glasses. I also made an appointment for an eye exam a little less than a month after the start of the class so I could see if "the Bates Method" was really working. Lo and behold, a mere 3 1/2 weeks after I diligently began applying the principles, my eyesight improved so much that my eye doctor was astounded! I still have a long way to go, but I plan to keep up the daily practices and have monthly eye checks, both to keep me motivated and to monitor my continuing progress. I am determined to one day achieve perfect vision!

My mom’s friend who has glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration and was literally going blind, started palming three times a day and after three months called me to share that her eyesight has been improving! She was crying because after all the medical procedures failed, she found a natural solution that worked. Anyone can start applying these principles and see the results but working with Dr. Casey made a big difference. She is very knowledgeable, she guides in meditations that enhance relaxation of the eye muscles, and her support is a big part in helping people improve the eyesight.

While I was learning the Natural Eyesight strategies, I shared them with others. My mom suffers from macular degeneration in one eye and was told that her other eye would be affected. She started the practice of "palming”, and her healthy eye is staying this way and there is no worsening in the affected eye despite poor prognosis. If you want a natural solution to improve your eyes, Dr. Casey will help you achieve your goals.
I was diagnosed with cataracts 6 years ago, I couldn’t read a book, see street signs, or recognize faces, I could only read large print. I did not want to have surgery and found Natural Vision improvement method based on Dr. Bates’ teachings. Last year I was fortunate to connect to Dr. Mila Casey. She started working with me and helped me to believe in my abilities to heal myself recommended certain practices. She made recommendations for lifestyle choices and supplements and met with me weekly to monitor my progress. The improvement in my vision is so amazing that it's hard for me to believe! I no longer have astigmatism and I can see price tags at the store, I can read the menu at restaurants again (most of the time), and I'm back to reading books on kindle with minor adjustments. Thanks to Dr. Casey, I started seeing the faces of people I love again! This has been an amazing journey, and I intend to continue and resolve my cataracts completely.
